We’d like to thank Francis Macdonald for being our very first guest blogger and wish him Good Luck for his gig today with the Cairn Quartet at BBC Music at the Quay for BBC Music Day. The session is fully booked but you can find details about how to listen here.
Keep a look out for more guest bloggers very soon. It’s a busy weekend in Glasgow and we’d like to draw your attention to the wonderful Britannia Panopticon, the world’s oldest surviving music hall, on Saturday 6th June at 2pm, where Gladstone’s Bag and Friends present: An Afternoon at the Movies. The programme of film music includes classical —Boccherini (The Ladykillers) — to modern (Cinema Paradiso), and takes in “photoplay” music from the silent era along the way.
On Saturday night the Poetry Club will host Superliminal, its semi-regular club night with live music and performance. The first in the 2015 showcase features a live set from Je$us Loves America, and Grant Morrison will perform the first part of his new spoken word with music piece “A Clockwork Wullie”.
Next week Patti Smith is coming to town…gallop, gallop…
