Gig tickets

Welcome to the blog for Glasgow Music City Tours. Our guided tours will tell the story of Glasgow’s music scene through its brilliant venues. In conjunction with the Merchant City Festival, we will launch our exciting, new walking tours by running four very special tours of the Merchant City starting on Sunday 26th July. Tickets for these will be available via the Merchant City Festival after it launches on Tuesday 9th June. On Friday 7th August, we will start our regular Merchant City Music – Past and Present tours while our Glasgow’s Music Mile tours will begin on Saturday 8th August.

What to do in Glasgow

We are so thrilled to be offering tours of Glasgow’s brilliant music scene and we hope that the tours will become known as one of the best things to do in Glasgow. We have been given so much encouragement and support from Glasgow’s performers, music industry workers, government and local authority bodies as well, of course, as Glasgow’s music venues. There are too many people to thank individually but we would like to give a huge shout out to everyone at Britannia PanopticonKing Tut’s and Mono. Before the tours take off, we will be on here blogging about music,  Glasgow and all the great things which resulted in the city being named as the UK’s only UNESCO City of Music. Get ready for guest bloggers (we have got some great names from Glasgow’s music scene lined up); musical memories; gig videos; tall tales, war stories and gig recommendations. We will be musing over great concerts we’ve been to and looking forward to gigs which are on our musical horizon. We will be showing off old ticket stubs, cherished set lists and hard-fought-for access all area passes. And we want to see your musical memorabilia; hear your past gig stories and share the news about gigs you are eagerly anticipating.

Give us a shout

We would love to hear from you via the blogFacebook or Twitter. You could even go old school and email us on Our next blog will feature an excerpt from an interview with the late and much missed John Peel. Check back to see what he had to say about Glasgow’s music scene.
