Barrowland Park Spring Clean 2018

We’d like to thank the Fans of Barrowland Park who gave the park a spring clean last weekend. With the help of a dedicated band of volunteers and the great team from Glasgow City Council, they sowed wild flowers, dug over the tree pits, topping with them up with mulch, and edged the grass borders. Thanks to Tom Doherty for allowing us to use his photographs.

The park is a temporary site which is earmarked for residential development. The group is campaigning to secure the future of the park and Album Pathway by raising awareness, with the aim of warding off future development plans. The ultimate objective is to retain the park as a resource for the local community, and Fans of Barrowland Park would like to see it being used for that purpose. If you are involved in a group or organisation looking to hold a small outdoor event, Fans of Barrowland Park may be able to offer support with promotion and volunteers on the day: please get in touch with the group via the links below if you’d like to discuss this.

Glasgow Music City Tours visit the park and Album Pathway every weekend and our guests love it: it features regularly on our Trip Advisor reviews:

“The Barrowland and its amazing walkway of headliners. Highly recommended.”

…my personal highlight, the Barrowland/Barrowland Album Pathway Park. So many great gigs are memorialized at the park. If I lived in Glasgow, the Barrowland would have been my 2nd home.”

“…was impressed with the Barrowlands ‘pavement’. Hope it stays.”

“Loved revisiting Barrowlands Park and reminiscing on the concerts I had attended.”

We’ll keep you posted on developments. In the meantime you can follow them and lend your support here:
